Fire Prevention Resources: Building Inspections and Open Burn Information
Residents and businesses must secure permits related to specific renovations, building updates, or to assess a building’s safety for occupancy. Residents and businesses also must abide by codes that enforce open burning in the area.
The First Fire Protection District / Antioch Fire Department enforces all fire codes for the District. The department also manages the permit application and approval process.
Antioch Requires Businesses to Apply for a Hazardous Substance Management Permit
Contractors or businesses who manage hazardous substances must apply for a permit for such activities. The Antioch Fire Department Fire Prevention Code outlines the application process and details which hazardous substances require a permit related to on-site management.

Open Burning Regulations
Open burning is prohibited in the Village limits of Antioch and unincorporated areas of the District. Exceptions to this code include wood-burning fires measuring 3x3x3 (or smaller) used for cooking or warming. Burning leaves or other debris is against local ordinances and codes.
